Unicorn Pursuit: Requirements
Preface
CEPSA is a global, integrated company operating across the entire oil and gas value chain. It’s one of the leading energy companies in Spain.
Business Requirements
CEPSA wants to expands to new fields of energy business, energy we all need while at Home, Moving or at Work.
Unicorn Pursuit is CEPSA’s Startup initiative, that gives the employees an opportunity to “find their Unicorn”, by bringing their ideas forward, and give the opportunitu to an amazing few to lead the project implementation, something like a sponsored Startup.
CEPSA needs a web platform, where employees can submit their startup ideas, and vote for potentialy best projects.
Technical Requirements
CEPSA has been migrating business critical workloads to the Cloud (particularly, AWS) for a few years now. In accordance with that, the technical requirements are:
- Web Application needs to be hosted in the cloud, due to elasticity and cost control it provides.
- SLA: Application needs to be available at 99.9% of the time anualy, not including maintanance time.
- Since Unicorn Pursuit is an initiative that lasts 2-3 months every year, perfomance needs to be optimal during the initiative, and the costs during the rest of the year need to be minimized.
- All users must authenticate to access the web.
- Only CEPSA employees can submit projects. External collaborators (filered by email) are invited to vote.
- Non authenticated users need to be able the front page with the basic info about Unicorn Pursuit.
- Each user can create only one project.
- User needs to be able to modify their project information.
- Each user can vote for 5 potential projects, giving each one a unique number of “points”, from 1 to 5. Projects with most points will win the Pursuit.
- Leaderboard needs to be available to everyone at all times.
- Only Administrators need to be able to delete projects.
